At Te Kōhanga Eco Lodge, you are less than 5 minutes' walk from one of the best beaches in the Wellington Region - Karehana Bay. And if that's not enough, one of the region's other top beaches (Plimmerton Beach) is only a 1 km walk down towards Plimmerton's cafe culture hub in Beach Road and Steyne Avenue. Spoilt for choice!

Discover A Piece of New Zealand Bush

Turn left at the front of the Lodge and in two minutes' walk you will be in the Karehana Bay Bush Reserve. Climb to The Track for spectular views out over Mana Island, Plimmerton and the surrounding areas. See if you can spot (or hear) some of our native birds on the way. For the more adventurous, there is Te Taua Tapu - a one hour return trip over an ancient Māori track.
